Week 4

Kyle has started playing softball with some of his labmates. Tonight was his second game (and second loss :( ). In that spirit, we made Hayes' Week 4 picture softball themed.

Yesterday, we visited the pediatrician and had Hayes weighed. We were all delighted to find out that he had gained 11.5 ounces in 6 days. He is really putting it on! He now weighs 8 lbs., 8 oz. We no longer have to wake him to feed him every three hours, which is nice in theory. We have had him on such a strict schedule, though, that he wakes up pretty much every three hours anyway. Our goal is to get him to sleep a little longer between feedings at night. It seems like the 'promised land' to Kyle and me right now! We are understanding some of the things our friends have said about having a newborn at home--that it seems like you are in one perpetual day that just keeps going and going. The days and nights just meld into one and then before you know it, your beautiful baby is 4 weeks old! Incidentally, Hayes' due date is tomorrow..... it's crazy to think that he might not have even been born yet had everything gone completely smoothly!
