Smells like...

OK, so I have found a sure-fire method of preventing Kyle from ever straying. Kyle, is, of course, a lover of food. Just about any food. Pancakes and waffles included....

Here's the story: Yesterday, we visited the lactation consultant to see just how well Hayes was doing in the eating department. Apparently, he lost a little more weight since he left the hospital. We had thought that he had gained some since he weighed more at the pediatrician's office. But, long story short, the scales at the hospital are right and those at the peds. are wrong. So, we are trying to really stuff him with milk to get the weight back on him. Part of the plan is for me to supplement with herbs that should increase milk production. One of these is called Fenugreek, which has the wonderful side-effect of making sweat smell like MAPLE SYRUP!!! So, I now have this faint odor about me and Kyle is just glued to me! He can't get enough, sniffing my neck and not leaving my side! In all seriousness, it's a nice smell, but I can see myself getting a little turned off by the thought of pancakes if I take the supplement for a while.

Here are a couple more pictures of the little fella, in case you're not amused by my "syrup making a marriage last" anecdote. The first is Hayes reading with Papa Glenn. The last is the really cute and useful gift--a diaper cake--that came in the mail today from cousin Lilah, Aunt Gillian, and Uncle Casey. It comes at a good time as Kyle and I are learning how many diapers an infant goes through in a day---LOTS!
