Our Campbell moves pretty quickly on her feet these days, almost running from place to place (especially when her brothers are chasing her!). Unfortunately, she is still only 15 months old and is not too steady, testing the limits of gravity on a daily basis. She has quite the bruise on her forehead in this picture, one she earned from her "fight" with the rocking chair at daycare. One call to Mama at work and a trip to the doctor later (for fear of a concussion) and she was proclaimed "just fine, but probably has a massive headache!" Aack, the bruises just keep coming!
In other news, she is cutting two molars, one on her upper right and one on her lower left (B and L for my dental peeps). She also is showing more of an understanding of directions ("give that to Hayes," "put the book on the shelf") and is doing a better job of communicating what she wants (bangs on the highchair when she wants to eat). On a cuter note, Campbell is waving more/better, blowing kisses, and cutest of all, she is making kissy faces when she wants to kiss!
Gosh, he looks like such a BOY here:
Campbell is going to move out of the infant room this week and in preparation, we've started transitioning her down from two naps to one. Poor baby couldn't make it through lunch before she was fast asleep. Kyle wiped her face and hands, removed her bib, and took her upstairs to bed---and she was konked out the whole time.
Tickled at herself for climbing into the colander:Campbell kept trying to catch the camera as I tried to get a picture of her in her new Wofford dress:
Little Miss Campbell is a jealous thing! She couldn't stand that Fisher was in the cozy coupe that she had vacated and so pushed her way back in. It was a tight squeeze!
We visited Gillette Castle, a house built out of stone by William Gillette, a famous theater actor best known for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes. The "Castle" is on a beautiful piece of property:

Hiking down to the river:
There is an actual, working ferry at the base of Gillette Castle that people take by foot, bike, and car to cross the river. It's not just an historic landmark that people visit, it's actually the best way to get from one point to another, a true route of transportation by the locals. We all thought it was really cool!
Hanging out with the dolls/stuffed animals that Campbell still loves to hug and snuggle:
Kyle has made a massive canning effort this summer, including tomato sauce, pepper jelly, mixed berry jam, pickled peppers (he picked a peck...), applesauce, peach jam, dutch apple pie jam, and strawberry jelly. He also put away green beans, carrots, potatoes, peppers. Did I ever mention that Kyle planted FORTY-FOUR pepper plants this year??? Why, you ask? Because he could, and because what's worth doing is worth overdoing!Playground fun:
So strong!
Hayes is quite the monkey lately. He is building up some calluses on his palms from all the monkey bars he's been crossing. Watch him in action:
