On the Couch

This week's doctor visit and ultrasound went well. Everything is holding steady! Pyle looks healthy and his weight is now estimated at 4 lbs., 14 oz. His heartbeat is averaging in the upper 140s. Today,I had another non-stress test (NST) and was not contracting (yea!). I'm back on the couch and hoping that Kyle will let me accompany him to pick up Pyle's bedding this weekend (it's mostly just riding in the car) since I'm behaving so well on bedrest.

OK, so the origin of the name Pyle: Once my coworkers found out I was pregnant with help from a fertility clinic, they immediately starting teasing me, saying that I was going to have twins, triplets, quadruplets, or even more! They started naming the multiples after Kyle---Lyle, Dyle, Pyle and of course, a Kyle Jr. "Pyle" just kind of stuck because of how silly it sounded. So, ever since, we have affectionately referred to our little peanut as Pyle. It helps to have a name rather than to keep saying, "the baby" this or that. It also helps to deter the pestering of those who want to know what we're naming the baby. We plan on keeping that a secret until he arrives safely into the world. Some people cannot stand not to know and so if they continually ask us, we just say, "we're going to name him Pyle"---that tends to quiet them down right away, not knowing if we're serious or not and not wanting to pass judgement in case that really is what we've picked as a name! And as of last night, we have finally settled on a name. But don't ask, because we won't tell--we're very good at keeping secrets! And maybe we'll decide to name him Pyle after all!

Next week, we'll have another NST (monday) and sonogram with a doctor appointment afterward (friday). I'll keep you posted!
