4 Hours a Day!

Kyle and I visited the doctor yesterday and had an ultrasound. Everything is still holding steady! My doctor even lightened my bedrest restrictions. I can now be on my feet for up to 4 hours a day! So, I can do some things around the house and make trips to Babies 'R Us and Walmart without the guilt that I had before while I was 'cheating' ever so slightly. I will listen to my body, however, and rest immediately if I start feeling poorly. (I threw that in for my mom!)

The ultrasounds are done at this point to make sure that Pyle looks healthy. They also check to make sure he's taking "practice breaths." It's really cool to see the diaphragm flexing while he's "breathing." Maybe his practicing taking breaths is what leads to him getting the hiccups all the time! During the ultrasound, Pyle was sleeping very soundly and peacefully. The sonographer had me roll to my side to try and wake him. She also poked and prodded my belly, trying to stir the little guy. He just would not budge! The last resort was this vibrating gadget that gets held against the stomach. Boy, did that work! The sonographer placed it in the spot where Pyle's little behind was and turned it on. He jumped what felt like a mile in my belly. What a rude awakening! I can only hope he sleeps that well after he's born.

More appointments next week. I'll keep everyone posted.

Glad you're finally able to get up and around. As appealing as it sounds to me, I know you've been going crazy on bedrest. Only 18 more days to go!
