Week 47

During Fisher's 47th week, he became even more adventurous with food, trying and loving turkey meatballs, chicken, muffins, pancakes, black beans, corn, and green beans (whole, not pureed).  He also had a helmet appointment to check his progress.  While his head showed tremendous improvement in the first month and a half, he has not shown much improvement in the last 3 weeks because he has not really grown much.  So, he will continue to wear the helmet and hopefully we'll get another good growth spurt so his head will really round out. We take him back in another 3 weeks.

We also learned from one of Fisher's daycare teachers that he's a little bit of a bully at school.  He tugs on and then pulls the pacifiers out of his friends' mouths.  The teacher says he likes to watch their reactions, which is mostly crying.  So, apparently, he needs a little anti-bullying lessons.

Here is a cute shirt I picked up months ago that I've been itching to put on Fisher---I just had to wait for him to grow into it.  The front:  "Peek..."

The back: "...a-Boo!"

One of his favorite toys---a balloon:
We took Hayes to have his 3 year old pictures taken last weekend.  He did really well this time but was cute in that he was a little nervous.  We knew he was nervous because he kept looking at me and saying, "I love you, mommy."  I, of course, would respond, "I love you too, Hayes."  I think it was his way of reassuring himself.  His teacher says he does the same thing when she asks him a question he doesn't know the answer to.  He'll say, "I love you Ms. Karen." What a sweet way to show that he's unsure of a situation!  Here is the official "3 Year Old" shot we selected:

We were thrilled to have Kyle's parents, Betty and Butch, come up for a visit this week.  Hayes immediately made himself right at home on the couch with his Grandmama and Grandaddy---and was entranced by the stories he could read on the i-pad Grandmama brought.
Painting a foam airplane he got as a birthday gift:
Saturday, we had Hayes' birthday party at Bounce Town, a local inflatable jump castle playground.  We invited friends and neighbors and Hayes' classmates.  They all had a blast running and jumping and playing and sliding.

Catching air:
Fisher hung out on the floor most of the time:
My friend June's boys, Jaden and Dalen:
Hayes was telling one of the party "helpers" that he was the birthday boy:
As many of the kids that we could round up:
We had pizza and cupcakes after the jumping.  The poor kids were EXHAUSTED!  I think/hope all the kids napped well and their parents had peaceful afternoons!

To all parents with children reading this:  Bounce Town-like places are perfect for parties!  The kids get completely worn out and the set up/clean up is done by other people!  You just supply the kids and the cake!

Looks like it was a blast! Where did you get the cupcake "signs" and liners? Adorable!
