This week, Fisher had a helmet check-up. The back of his head is rounding out nicely---so much so that the orthotist thinks that he may only need 3 more weeks of full time wear and then he'll only need to wear it for naps and bedtime. We're still waiting for the forehead to even out. But, we're pleased with his progress so far!
Here are a couple more shots of my cutie pie from the week:
Here is a video of him rolling over (after doing what looks like a cheerleading move by stretching his leg out while holding his toes):
Even though we know we have not yet seen the last of winter here in CT, we have enjoyed some warmer temperatures this past week--40's and low 50's. It was pleasant enough today (52) to take Hayes for a wagon ride. Boy, were we glad to get him out of the house for a little while---talk about cabin fever!!! (Yes, I know all our Southern family members are laughing since they've been enjoying 70 and 80 degree weather.)
He may look like an angel here...
...but let me tell you different. This little guy has been up to some antics the past few days. At school on Thursday, he was being very fresh---enough to be sent to the office to talk with the director. Hayes defiantly told both his teacher and the director that they couldn't call his mommy because I was at work! That little stinker! We had several long chats about behaving himself and had him apologize to his teacher the next day. Also, on Friday I called to check up on him and when they announced over the intercom that Hayes' mom was on the phone, his jaw dropped and he said, "My mommy is on the phone!" His teacher said, "See Hayes, we CAN talk to your mommy while she's at work!" Also, Hayes has continued to wake up and leave his room very early in the morning---usually around 5:45 or 6 am. Friday morning, Kyle caught Hayes downstairs eating a sucker that he had nabbed from the candy bowl---after carrying a box of diapers all the way downstairs to use as a stool to reach the candy bowl. While we were both impressed at the ingenuity and determination he showed, we obviously were dismayed at him getting into stuff like that. We are going to be working with a behavior chart and prizes (thanks for the idea, Cindy and Chris) to encourage staying in his bed (or at least his room) until a more reasonable hour. Cross your fingers that it works!!!
Here is a cute project he did at school, showing the things he loves---laughing, family, and the beach:

My niece had the waking up problem at the same age with her daughter. They put a clock with numbers(not digital) and colored the 7 red and the little hand red and told her that she could not get up until the hand was on the 7. It only took her a few time before she caught on and now does not leave the room before 7. They have also done this with her brother and it worked too. Good luck with this. Cyndi
The boys are so cute and Kyle is so skinny! You guys are so impressive. I need to come visit!
My co-worker has a stop light in the room with his twins. It's red all night and turns green when it's time to get out of bed (they're too young to read a clock).
Alas, 5:45 or 6 is a GOOD day over here. The boys are finally starting to sleep that late after some bedtime adjustment and sleep training. Still sucks b/c I'm NOT a morning person, but it's better than 1 or 3.
