Week 45

This week's picture commemorates Fisher's first ever March Madness.  Our Jayhawks began tournament play on the day we took his weekly picture, hence his outfit.  Go Jayhawks!!!

Fisher started pointing this week.  Usually, he points to our faces and tries to stick his finger in our mouths when we inevitably lean in closer to his pointed finger.  Also, he has been loving having his head rubbed.  We take his helmet off after dinner so that we can clean it (it is stinky after his little head sweats in it all day) and so that he can have his bath.  Whenever the helmet is off and Kyle is holding him, he leans his head back into Kyle's beard stubble and rubs and rubs his head to scratch it.  It is so cute to watch!

We are finally starting to see signs of spring here.  The daffodils have sprouted and there are the beginnings of buds on the trees.  I think that Kyle and I took spring for granted in all the years we grew up and lived in the south.  We both now have a true appreciation for spring, especially after the long, snowy winter we've had this year.  Towards the end of this week, we had two days in the upper 60's and we even hit 70 degrees one day!!!  (Nevermind that it is back in the upper 40's this weekend...)  We all have spring fever, including the kids, who have been utterly happy to be outside. Hayes climbed a tree:

Fisher touched grass for the first time:

Hayes watching a ball that Kyle threw high up in the sky:
Fisher's first time in the swing out back, and then Hayes being a great big brother and pushing him:

On one of the cooler days last week, Hayes had a blast with silly string:

And now for some inside fun---Fisher has been leaning over from a sitting position and flopping onto his belly.  Once there, he pivots on his stomach and pushes himself backwards.  Here, he pushed his legs under the entertainment stand:
Now that he's finally eating solids, Fisher seems like he is way more adventurous in trying new things and textures than Hayes ever was.  This week, he ate steamed and sliced carrots and mum-mum rice rusks (whatever the heck those are!!!):
Lastly, here is a picture that just warms my heart---Hayes and Fisher sitting together, sharing a toy, and playing together:
