Week 16

This week's picture shows our chunky monkey "standing up." I remembered that we had Hayes standing in the same outfit in one of his weekly pictures, and since Fisher happened to be wearing the outfit on block picture day, we tried to recreate the pose. Above, the first picture is of Fisher at 16 weeks and the second is of Hayes at 13 weeks. What do you think? Do they look alike? We think they definitely look like brothers. Fisher is the shorter, chubbier brother!

Week 16 has absolutely flown by, something I feel sure will happen quite regularly now that I'm back at work. We're adjusting to our new routine pretty well. I only have a couple complaints about daycare so far: they are feeding Fisher like crazy (he'll be the fattest baby ever if they keep this up) and the first daycare cold has taken hold. The poor little fella is snorting and gagging and his eyes are red and watery. Let's hope this one is short-lived (so he can catch another one next week...).

Outtake of weekly picture:

I forgot to post some pics of a hike we took one Sunday morning a few weeks ago. Here is Hayes traveling in style:

We hiked up to see Heublein Tower at the top of a ridge. We then climbed the tower and had wonderful panoramic views--we could see all the way to Springfield, Mass.!

After hiking and climbing, we took a snack break and Fisher took a break from the Bjorn:

All the hiking wore him out! Check out all the dark hair on the top of his head. He has started to lose it (see pictures from this week) and looks more bald on top with the darker hair remaining on the sides and in the back. It's quite the interesting "male pattern baldness." I can't wait to see if he'll end up with the same "skullet" look that Hayes sported for months and was the source of many jokes.

Hayes exploring:

For months, we have been eagerly awaiting the opening of the brand new YMCA a mile down the road from our house. On opening day, we took Hayes for a swim. He had a blast! It is going to be so nice to be able to take the boys swimming throughout the winter. Oh yeah, and Kyle and I can workout in our abundant free time...

Hey there, Mr. Happy Pants!

We took Fisher to get his "newborn" pictures last weekend and had a few taken with the brothers together:

This next trio of pictures shows "The Progression of the Smile."
(Isn't the first one the perfect capturing of the sense of wonder?)

Little, chubby fingers:

Look at all that chubness:

Pouty McPout from Pouterstown:

And lastly, some parting shots of the bounty from our garden, including a humongous zucchini way bigger than my forearm:

Lotsa tomatoes---YUM!!!!

Cukes, green beans, potatoes, oh my!

Sitting here with Great Grandma and looking at pictures. If I didn't know I was looking at Fisher, I'd think it was Hayes standing on the "bleachers"...Oh my goodness. Love all the smiles. :) And I can just see those curious eyes as Hayes explores. Thanks as always for the updates.
