Week 15

Week 15 went by very quickly. Fisher started daycare and I returned to work for the first time in 4 months---so the week was a whirlwind of trying to get into a routine. And who knew it would take so many trips to the car to get it packed for the day's essentials?!?! sheets, blankets, burp rags, lunches, milk, pump, cooler, work clothes, Hayes, the baby, me... the list goes on and on. Thank goodness I have the world's best husband---there's no way I could do all this by myself!!!!

As for the start of daycare, Fisher and I have both done well. I have restrained myself and only checked in once a day. His teachers don't do things the way that we do, but as my mom says, "No one loves or treats your baby like you do." The important thing is that he is safe and well cared for.

Hayes loves having his brother at school with him. When I picked them up on Monday, Hayes and all his friends were playing with dolls---according to his teachers, Hayes named all the baby dolls Fisher that day! He loves his brother so much!

In this week's picture, Fisher is laying on the beautiful afghan that my Aunt Katherine lovingly made for him.

Fisher has been busy growing out of many of his newborn clothes. He is smiling and cooing more and is more alert every day. He has started to "stand" up, or put pressure on his legs instead of hanging like a limp noodle when you hold him up. He also is starting to really get his legs and arms moving when he's laying down---it's like he wants to get up and go. It seems like just yesterday Hayes was doing the same thing!

Hayes likes to point out American flags whenever he sees them, so it was only fitting that he and I put one up on our house.

My boys:

I forgot to include a funny story about Hayes last week. If you remember (or read the blog last week), when Chris and Cindy were here, we visited UConn. I told Hayes that morning that we were "going to the university." He said to me, "I am not versity, I am Hayes," very matter-of-factly. Not understanding at first, I repeated that we were going to the university. Again, he told me he was not versity, but Hayes. The silly kid thought I was calling him names!
My South Carolina boy:

Here is Hayes in his new bike helmet, which we bought because......drumroll, please.....

...he learned to ride a scooter!!!! I think it is pretty darn cool that a two year old has the coordination to do that! He learned it by watching our neighbor and Hayes' hero, Zach.

Here is a video:

Wow, Fisher is getting so active! He's precious. I'm glad both of you are doing o.k. with work & daycare. And we are very impressed with Hayes' scooter skills :).
