Week 14

This week's pic was taken at a local playground where we took Hayes to have a picnic lunch---and playtime, of course!

I spent part of the week trying to capture one of Fisher's smiles on camera---I wasn't very successful, but was comforted knowing there will be millions of smiles for me to capture in the future!

Almost a full-on smile:

We spent most of Week 14 with Chris, Cindy, Kellen, and Ainsley. We had a lot of fun and were so lucky that they made the long trip to CT to see us. See pics of our adventures below.

Although they fought over some toys now and again (like any typical two-year olds), Hayes and Kellen had a blast together. I don't even want to contemplate the trouble these two are going to get into as they get older...

Holding their babies: (right after this picture was taken, both boys decided to see what would happen if they held/plugged their siblings' noses----the little turkeys!!!)

Hanging out in the backyard:

Pool time began with splashing and fun....

and became a game of "mine!" (note that they are both hoarding as many toys as possible)...

and devolved into this...

Cindy and Ainsley:

My bro with Ainsley---I LOVE it when he smiles!

We made a trip to bounce town with the gang. We ALL had fun!

Holding the babies:

Cousins:

We made a trip to Mystic Seaport. It was a gorgeous day, though a touch too hot. Here are the boys driving one of the (landlocked) boats:

Aren't they cute? Cindy and I were laughing and saying that they could easily be mistaken for a little family!

Ainsley passed out in the Bjorn:

Kyle is definitely comfortable with his masculinity---carrying and posing with Cindy's diaper bag:

The boys' mode of transportation as we walked through the Seaport and then into Mystic proper was the wagon. Of course, they had to have their snacks and water!

Kellen was wiped out and slept like this for about 45 minutes---my neck hurts just looking at him!

Hayes got just a tiny bit messy with his ice cream. I don't know if more ended up in his belly or on his shirt!

Back at the homestead, Kyle has an armful while Cindy and I bathed the boys:

Green bathwater!!!!

Our dinnertime set-up on the deck:

...continued:

Silly Kellen:

Running with abandon:

Chris, Kellen, and Hayes played "soccer" with one of the neighbors (6 year old Zach, who Hayes absolutely idolizes). I loved watching them all play in the yard and can picture what it will be like in the years to come with boys pouring in and out of the house and yard.

Enjoying watching the boys:

Hayes playing soccer with Zach (AKA, chasing the older and faster boy around endlessly):

So, Kellen likes all things cleaning---mops, napkins, brooms, etc:

Cindy took the boys on a wagon ride through the neighborhood:

Eating again: (have you ever noticed how toddlers are eating non-stop?)

Holding hands (ok, so I put their hands together...):

Ainsley is tickled about something---she's younger than Fisher by 3 weeks but further along developmentally since she should be 5 weeks older. She's way more smiley right now than Fisher.

Apparently, the notion that kiddos in nothing but their diapers being white-trashy runs in the family. Chris and I both think so, though we've never discussed this feeling until now. You will almost never see Hayes outside with just a diaper (I can think of very rare exceptions). And it's not often that you see him inside with just a diaper----I cringe when I post pics on the blog of Hayes like that. Anyways, it is fitting that I tease my brother and post this pic of Kellen in his white trash costume!!!

The babies did a lot of this:

Chris and Cindy---Thank you so much for driving all the way to CT to visit us (with an infant and 2 year old)! We had a great time and look forward to Christmas time when we can get the entire crew together. Holy cow, that will be crazy!
