Week 17

Week 17 was off to a great start but ended with a sick baby---yuck. This week's pic was taken a couple days late because our little guy was under the weather fighting some virus for a few days. The poor baby was up screaming all night for a couple nights and then had a fever and just slept the third day away. He is more alert and awake today and seems to be on the mend now, thank goodness!

Kyle turned 32 over the weekend. I surprised him with a babysitter to watch the kiddos while we had our first evening out by ourselves since Fisher was born. A few days prior, Hayes colored a birthday card for Kyle. He hunched over the card with a look of concentration on his face and held the crayon tightly. Instead of the back and forth scribble that he usually does, he made short, quick little markings like he was pretending to write! It was so cute!

We have taken Hayes back to the pool several times. He is getting braver and more comfortable in the water. His current favorite activity is climbing the ladder and then jumping into our arms. He does this what seems like thousands of times each time we go. He literally wants to do nothing else. Here he is pre-jump:

Ready....

Lift-off!!!

Splash!

Kyle got quite the work out throwing Hayes up in the air:
Jumping in to Kyle:

This video was shot when we first got to the pool last time. By the end of our playtime, he was jumping much further out and letting his head go under. The swimmer in me is super excited to see how well he'll progress---I want him to be a little fish!

Fisher finally took notice of the mobile on his swing:

"Whoa Mom, that's a bright flash!"

Last weekend, we went to Farm Day at a local dairy farm. There were what seemed like MILLIONS of children under 4 years old swarming around. It was a perfect 80 degree day and a perfect event for young children. There were farm animals, hay rides, face painting, bounce houses, and all-you-can eat ice cream. We'll definitely be going back for the next few years!
My boys as cows:
In line for the hay ride:
Hayes LOVES tractors---so this hay ride was a real treat for him!
One of the lovely contributors to the yummy ice cream:
Hayes actually sat still for his face painting:
The sub-par turtle that was painted-- (come on, I could have done a better job blind folded!) But Hayes loved it!

Hayes was mesmerized by the folk-band. He stood stock still for over half an hour watching and listening!

Posing in front of a firetruck tire:
Hayes was so excited to get to sit on the back!

Your boys are so darn cute. Yay for Fisher recognizing the mobile! It's it awesome?? My boys ust discovered theirs not too long ago.

Can you send me a note when you get a chance and let me know where you got those blocks that you take pictures with (the ones where you spell the weeks)?
