During Week 19, Fisher had his 4 month check-up with "Dr. Seuss." He weighed in at 12 pounds, 9 ounces (6th percentile), was 22.75 inches (zero percentile), and his head circumference was 15.75 inches (5th percentile). If we use the same numbers for a 2 month old (like he should really be), he is in the 55th percentile for weight and 35th for height. So, he's doing pretty well! The doc was impressed at his head control and how alert he was. Poor kid didn't impress the doctor enough---he still had to get his immunizations! Fisher was a little crabby that day but seemed to be fine the next. In other development news, Fisher has started to blow little raspberries and is beginning to rub his eyes when he gets tired. It's like he accidentally gets his hands up by his eyes and then realizes how good it feels to rub, rub, rub. Also, Fisher is starting to get bored of leaning up against our chests. He would much rather be facing forward checking everything out. Here he is leaning forward but holding his head up like a big boy:
Last weekend, Hayes, Fisher and I had a grand adventure. We took a road trip to Pennsylvania. What, you ask, was such a great lure that I traveled 6.5 hours each way with a toddler and an infant by myself?? My friends, Anna and Emily and their girls! Anna had the wild idea to rent a minivan and drive with her daughters, Mary Hudson (almost 3) and Laura Cooper (3 months), from NC to pick up Emily and her daughters, Lily (3) and Caroline (2 months), in TN and make the trek to PA where her Dad and Stepmom Patti live. I would just drive on down with my boys and we'd spend a relaxing (?!) weekend together. Confused yet? Well, that just tells you how crazy an idea it was. But it was a fantastic weekend and I'm so glad we went! I got to meet Laura and Caroline, see MH and Lily again, and spend some quality time with Anna and Emily. And Patti (Mimi to the kids) was the most fantastic hostess ever. She collected oodles of kid/baby gear to entertain/contain/sleep our children and worked tirelessly all weekend to assure that we would all have a great time. Thank you so much, Patti!!!! But beware, you might have made it such a special weekend that we might make it a bi-annual occurrence...
Mimi is the best! She got us all tickets to a "Day Out With Thomas." Here she is with the big kids----how she managed to get them to behave so well for her is beyond me!

Riding the school bus to and from the Thomas event was almost as exciting as riding Thomas! From left to right: Lily, Mary Hudson, Hayes:

THOMAS!!!

Right after Hayes saw Thomas for the first time---need I say more????

MH, Lily, and Hayes waving to Thomas:

Riding on Thomas with Mimi/Patti:

Me and the boys:

After Thomas, we had lunch at an Amish restaurant. There were several picnic tables in the shade along with a couple playscapes that the big kids loved. It was the perfect temperature, the perfect day:

Fisher hanging out with Caroline, who is 8 weeks old here. She was due only a few days after Fisher and is ten weeks younger than he is, but is much bigger than he is! She is the best baby ever (behind Hayes and Fisher, of course)----very even-tempered and beautiful!

Here we are at a playground close to Mimi's house---from left to right: Emily with Caroline, me with Fisher, and Anna with Laura:

Don't they look like little angels? It was all we could do to get them to sit still for this shot! Those silly toddlers just wanted to play, play, play!

I hate that this shot is blurry (operator error), but I love how excited beautiful little Miss MH is!

This was us most of the weekend---carrying babies in bjorns and cameras. We kept getting grief about the constant picture taking, but this is how the blog happens! And I LOVE having pictures of the memories we make.

The babies in bouncy seats, from left to right-- Fisher, Laura, and Caroline: (Beautiful Laura is a wonderful baby--she is very happy and awake and alert a lot of the time.)
Mimi fed our kids very nutritious meals each night. I think Hayes fell in love with Mimi---several mornings the past week, he asked if we were going back to Mimi's house!
Capping off a long day, Anna read the kiddos their bedtime story---how sweet is this picture?
Thank you, Anna and Emily, for making the trip. And thank you, Patti, for making it all happen and taking the chaos in stride. We had such a great time!
Here is Fisher doing a little "talking," though it devolves into fussing at the end:

Alison, These are the greatest pictures!! I thought I was taking pics all weekend long, but then got home and realized I didn't have any of the babies together or us together! How did that happen?! So wonderful to see you and the boys!
