Week 50

Oh my goodness... only 2 more weekly posts to go until the big day! It's coming up so fast! In this week's picture, Hayes was "driving" my car. (Please excuse the outfit---today was pajama day at daycare.) In the following runner-up pic, Hayes was in the process of gleefully demolishing the blocks, which he managed to do about 17 times before I got a decent picture. He gets completely obsessed with the blocks whenever we bring them out. Lately, I've been really tempted to use a trick I was told about---photoshop the blocks into a good smiley picture. But, I've made it this far and I'm determined to make it to Week 52 with genuine pics, even if they're not the greatest.
This week's milestones are, in order of most to least important (according to Kyle): Hayes ate bologna (yuck!), he has begun trying to repeat words and sounds that we make (he almost kinda said purple and red--"ur-uhl" and "ed"), we've started limiting how many bottles a day he gets, and we think we've discovered that Hayes is left-handed. Here he is being super curious---no longer satisfied with pulling all the Tupperware out of the cabinet, he had to explore inside the cabinet:

"Surfing" on the dishwasher (and, no, he did not fall down and will not be doing this again):
Last Sunday, we took Hayes to a nearby playground since it was so nice outside (55 degrees). He swung and walked around and had a good time exploring and watching the older kids run around.

I couldn't help but laugh at the next two pics--Hayes has become pretty good at walking, occasionally falling due to loss of balance. I managed to catch him in the midst of a couple balance checks, but they make him look like a zombie-walker.
Last but not least, here is my baby, thoroughly enjoying the swing:

(Note: even though it is not St. Patty's Day yet, I decided to change the clover background to BIRTHDAY background in honor of the big day in 2 weeks!)

I love the "zombie" pics. I can't believe that he's almost one! Wish we could be there for the big event!

It is unbelievable Hayes will be one soon! Tim and I got a kick out the balance check pics. Oh, and I lived off bologna as a kid, but thank goodness grew out of that stage. So there's hope :).
