Week 38

We had our first experience cutting down our own Christmas tree this year. That's exactly what it was, an "experience." What should have been an idyllic romp at a New England Christmas tree farm was, in actuality, pretty miserable. Hayes did NOT enjoy any part of it---he began crying hysterically as soon as we got out of the car and did not stop until over 20 minutes after we were back in the car. Was he too cold or did we scare him with our stocking caps/toboggans? No idea. Anyways, due to the crying, we chose the third tree we looked at. Kyle cut it down and apparently, in Connecticut, you pay more money ($12 extra!) for a tree you cut down yourself......something about the "experience." Maybe next year, we'll get a pre-cut.
The good news was that we were able to try out our new backpack carrier, even if it was only for 5 minutes.
Hayes' skullet faded away some time ago. He still looks bald, but his hair is starting to grow back. It is blondish/light brown and just looks like fuzz, but has the potential for one day needing a haircut----maybe by the time he's four!Hayes is pulling up on everything and is cruising. The other day, he reached a little too far into his toy basket and fell in! Poor kid was stuck until after I took some pictures. What a great mom I am!
Hanging out with Kyle:
Although any food that is not pureed tends to make Hayes gag, he dug into my banana today. Look at the mess! I guess I'm going to have to get over worrying about him getting dirty---he is a boy, after all.
