Week 36/ East Coast Trip Part III

We left Charleston yesterday and made our trip up to Greenville to spend some time with Kyle's parents. Hayes is sitting atop one of the stone bridges at the Reedy River Falls Park in this week's picture. This week, Hayes has learned to pull up to a standing position. He is ever-so-close to crawling, but still moving mostly in the backwards direction. This seems to be quite frustrating for him as he keeps moving away from whatever it is he wants to move towards.

We spent Thanksgiving Day in Georgetown at my Grandma Cherry's house. We had a wonderful time and a terrific meal. Hayes enjoyed meeting a lot of relatives. Unfortunately, I did not take my camera, so no pics. :(

Last Friday, we headed to Kyle's Grandmother Dora's house in Moncks Corner. We got to spend the day with Kyle's entire immediate family (the first time we've all been together in several years) and his Aunt Vivian and Uncle William. Kyle's mom made her world famous lasagna (well, maybe not world famous, but really incredible), we played the "train game" (Ticket to Ride), and we had some family pictures snapped. It was a great day!

Hayes with Great-grandmother Dora: We finished up the weekend with some light shopping and spending a few more days with Chris and Cindy and Kellen before they headed back to Japan. Kellen is such a cutie---he makes little bird noises and squawks kind of like a pterodactyl---a big contrast to Hayes' pirate noises (AARRRRRR!). They left for a 28 hour travel odyssey on Tuesday morning. Hopefully, the trip will be as uneventful as their trip to the US. We will miss them!

Looks like you're having a blast on your East Coast Odyssey. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and make it home safely. We made it back to Okinawa, and Kellen did great (again). We're all a little exhausted today, but functioning. We miss you guys already!
