Week 41

This week's picture was taken at the Sugar Shack that we try to visit once a year during "sugaring," or maple syrup making time.  The smells coming out of the barn while they're boiling the sap are just heavenly.  And they just happen to have a diner on site with wonderful buttermilk pancakes, the perfect vehicle for their homemade syrup!  Here, Campbell is sitting in front of one of the syrup vats (not currently in use for boiling, of course).  Below is the syrup cooking:
And draining out the pure maple syrup:
The boys in front of one of the tapped trees:
Campbell rides with the best view---loving the baby bjorn (thanks Gillian and Casey!):
Fisher shows what a big boy he is, swinging without support on the swing set at the sugar shack:
And the boys loved climbing these tractor tires:

Her brother is still just as infatuated with her as he was when she was born, always giving her hugs and kisses:

Finally enjoying the "spring" (of course, it was still only 55 degrees, but who's complaining...):
Lastly, here's a glimpse of our girl who is becoming more adventurous in her explorations and loves pulling up on everything.  She woke up the other night and stood up in her crib and couldn't figure out how to get back down, so Kyle rescued her and laid her down as she looked up at him with a tired, thankful look.  Campbell also had her 9 month checkup on Friday. She weighs 16 pounds, 10.5 ounces (10th percentile---and what a far cry from her 95th-ish percentile at birth!), is 27.25 inches tall (30th percentile), and her head is 44 cm (45th percentile).  She had her flu booster and an iron test (finger stick and lots of squeezing) and she barely cried at all!  What a tough, sweet girl we have---and she's got to be with 2 older brothers!
