Catching Up

I figure I better catch up on blogging since things are about to be turned upside down in our house.  We have been enjoying the warmer weather (finally) and doing a lot of playing outside.  We still have some chilly days here and there, but for the most part, it's been gorgeous and not too hot (have only turned the air on for about 4 days total). There have been no major events lately, so I will just let you enjoy lots of pictures!

Here is Fisher wearing his birthday outfit from when he turned 1.  Grandmama Betty was a genius when she made the pants with a cuff that could be turned down as he grew.  (We might have to sweet talk her into making some more in the future!)

Friends of ours had a get together to christen their new inflatable water slide a few weeks ago. Here are the boys enjoying some popsicles:

Hayes, Fisher, and Kyle all really enjoyed the water slide.  I was disappointed that my big old pregnant self couldn't go on the slide, but soon enough, right?!

I am such a dork, but love to dress my boys similarly!  They have to resent me for something when they are older, so I might as well add this to the list!

Thoughtful playground pose:

Being silly in the car:

Pushing this truck uphill is hard work!

Cool like Daddy:

We ran out of strawberry jam a couple months ago, which is a small tragedy in our house.  (I am such a jam/jelly snob and won't eat store bought---thanks for that, Dad!)  So we have been waiting and waiting for strawberries to come into season here.  Last weekend was it!  We picked (and ate) tons of strawberries and made many, many batches of jam to last us until next June (hopefully).

Rainy day Cars watching---and Fisher will actually sit for about 5 minutes at a time now before he decided tv is not all that great.

Hayes had his last day of gymnastics a couple weekends ago.  All the kiddos got medals and certificates.  I don't know how much Hayes actually learned, but it was a great outlet to burn energy on a Saturday morning.  And he seems much more confident about his physical strength in general---he has climbed down poles, across monkey bars, and over other playground equipment that he wouldn't have tried in the past.  Here he is with three of the kids in his class that he also goes to school with:

Getting his certificate and medal--he was so proud!

Swinging in the big boy swing:

Fisher had his eyes dilated at the eye doctor and wore these super cool glasses for about 30 seconds.  He was so clumsy and kept stumbling and running into things.  The sunglasses would have helped, I think, but we couldn't get him to wear them, the little stinker!

This bubble leaf blower was a gift from Fisher's cousins Kellen, Ainsley, and Emerson for his birthday.  He loves it!

Go ahead, make my day!

Picnic lunch on a gorgeous Sunday:

Look Ma, no hands!

Mmmm, deconstructed peanut butter and jelly sandwich:

A great PB & J makes everyone happy!

How does this thing work, anyways?
