Very Hungry Caterpillar Party

For Fisher's first birthday party, we used a "Very Hungry Caterpillar" (story by Eric Carle) theme that I borrowed (stole, with permission) from a friend.  Above is Fisher with the cupcake caterpillar cake and his smash cake. He is wearing a handmade onesie I bought online and some pants that the ever-talented Betty (Kyle's mom, aka Grandmama) made to match.  Below are pictures of the party, starting with the invitation and banner I made:

We rented a bounce house that everyone enjoyed, adult and kid alike:

The food followed the theme in that we had all the foods that the "Very Hungry Caterpillar" ate through.

We had the kids do some art projects.  In this one, we used the kids' fingerprints to make a caterpillar bookmark for their moms for Mother's Day.  Fisher was surprisingly cooperative:

Fisher ate a little icing from his birthday cake and then wanted crackers and fruit.

 Family picture after the party:

One of the parting gifts:
Thank you to those who attended and to Cordy for the idea for the party.  Most of all, thank you to my parents and my husband.  Without your help and support, the party would not have happened.  Mom and Dad, I'm so glad that you were here to celebrate Fisher's first birthday!
