Week 44

Week 44 has been a big one. Hayes turned 10 months old on Sunday, is self-feeding (cheese and puffs) using a sort of sloppy pincer grasp, and is.......drum roll please ......................WALKING!!! Now, the walking is just in the form of a few teeter-tottering steps here and there without holding on, but it's walking all the same. The little monkey did what all moms are deathly afraid of, and that's doing something for the first time for someone else's eyes. That's right, he walked first at daycare. (sniff, sniff) He has taken some steps for us here, but they tell us at daycare that he's walking up a storm (a slight exaggeration, I think.....I hope). I believe that crawling is still a lot easier for him, so that's still his mode of transportation of choice for the moment. (That's OK with me, for once he starts walking well, he starts running and getting into even more stuff.) I can only take so much of these developmental milestones at a time---every new thing he does is wonderful, but they make me realize how quickly he is growing and that I won't have a baby anymore before too long.
Here are some pics from the week-- Trying out his new carseat:
Loving the balls, and sitting in dad's lap:
Holding the cup with his teeth so he didn't have to let go of the wheel or ball:
Still a little Jayhawk:
Happy to be in baby jail:Are those Hayes' toys or Kyle's toys?
