This week started off with a bang---going to the doctor Monday for Hayes' 2 month check-up. Unfortunately, at this check, he had to get several vaccinations---3 shots in his chubby little thighs that made him scream and me want to strangle the nurse who was hurting him. (I know this is irrational as she was just doing her job, but motherhood does strange things to me.) On a happier note, he was pronounced very healthy and weighed in at 11 pounds and is now 22 inches long. He went from the 8th% to 43rd% in weight in a month and a half, so he's gaining very nicely. We're going to have a real chunker on our hands before long!
This week, I go back to work. I'm both looking forward to it and dreading it. I've been home since mid-February, so I'm ready to get my hands busy again with the drill (I know, I know, most of you are cringing). I'm really sad, though, to think about leaving Hayes and missing the developmental milestones he'll achieve with the nanny while I'm at work. I just have to tell myself that he'll respect me as a strong career woman one day (I hope!). Anyways, Hayes will be staying at home for the summer with the lovely young woman we hired as his nanny. We're excited that we had the opportunity to have someone come into our home so that we don't have to pack Hayes up every day. To work this out, Kyle and I have had to finesse our schedules a little (he and I won't get quite as much time together), but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end!
Here are a couple more random pics----Hayes enjoying his new play gym and Anya illustrating the "you move, you lose" mantra.
