Week 6

It's hard to believe that it's been 6 weeks since Hayes was born--time is definitely flying. There is not much to report in the past week, other than Hayes being a little bit like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. On the one hand, he found his fussy gene---making us shake our heads in frustration at times, wondering what to try next... On the other, much happier, hand, Hayes gave his first real smile last Saturday. It wasn't one of those 'sort-of-half-grins' but one of those ear-to-ear full-on smiles. So, that was really cool---the first real sign that he may actually like us. He's been practicing those smiles on and off (when he's not totally ticked off, that is).

The week 6 photo is of Hayes in his crib, enjoying looking at his mobile. I finally replaced the cat fur-covered sheet so that he could lay in the crib without coming out with a pound of fur. Lately, he's been laying flat on the floor, couch, bed, etc. and been really interested in looking upwards at lights, so I decided that I'd get some use out of the mobile. He seems to like it!

The other photos are of Hayes and his milk goatee after a nice bottle and one of him comfortably (?) sacked out in Kyle's arms.

I can't believe he's already 6 weeks old! Looks like he's growing like a weed, too. Chris and I love the "soul patch". Give him a kiss for us.
