Labor Day Trip

This is our belated posting from our trip to New England over Labor Day Weekend. It was a combo birthday present for Kyle/visit to see our friends Patty and Brad. We met them three years ago in Wisconsin--Patty was a fellow resident at the hospital with me and Brad is her husband who is now doing his psychiatry residency in New Hampshire.

First, we flew into Boston and took in some sites:

#1) Fenway Park Tour

(tickets to an actual game were way too expensive)

Then, we spent the rest of the day walking through Boston along

#2) The Freedom Trail- where we saw things like Paul Revere's house, cemetaries, Faneuil Hall.....

...and the Old North Church tower made famous by the 'one if by land, two if by sea' instructions by Paul Revere during the Revolutionary War.

That night, we met Patty and Brad at an AWESOME seafood restaurant, Legal Seafoods, where we made sure to have New England clam chowder, lobster, and, of course, Boston cream pie!

The next day, we left to drive up the coast and we stopped in a little town called

#3) Ogunquit, Maine.

We took a nice walk on the beach, as evidenced by

the pic of pregnant Patty and Brad below:

Then, we ate more seafood before we left Maine. More lobster for Kyle!!!

Then, we drove up to the #4) Patty and Brad's homestead in the mountains of New Hampshire, a condo in an absolutely GORGEOUS setting. It's about 15 feet from a peaceful little lake surrounded by forests and 17 miles of hiking trails. Let's just say that the setting was so great that it got us dreaming about buying a vacation home there. Patty and Brad were terrific hosts and showed us around the quaint surrounding New England towns. The whole trip was wonderful and relaxing. Our travel by bus to Boston's airport and then our flight home were uneventful (thank goodness). And, I must say that Midwest Airlines rocks!

Thanks again, Patty and Brad!

Oh no, it sounds like you two have been Yankeefied!! Hopefully Cindy and I can come visit you in the Hamptons during a future summer. That was too bad about Sox tickets, I'm sure that would have been the highlight of the trip for Kyle, although cheap lobster probably helped ease his pain. Great pictures, looked like a really neat trip.
