This was Campbell's Valentine's Day outfit, but originally Kyle's Christmas outfit that his mom made 34ish years ago! I embellished it with a little ribbon, using an iron and no-sew bonding material. I really need to learn how to sew!
Here is our happy little darling---you can see her lower front teeth a little better now (the two little white spots under her tongue). Her upper front teeth are close to erupting---it won't be long now.
And here are several pictures of us in the crazy snow we had last weekend. Last Sunday, it was around 40 degrees and really sunny, so it actually felt pretty warm. We had a blast playing in the snow!
Using the snow brick and snowball makers that Aunt Gillian, Uncle Casey, and cousins Lilah and Violet gave us last winter. They are awesome!
Hayes forged a trail through the snow to the playscape. Fisher and I followed.
We made it!
I was proud of the wall I made. I foresee snow forts and snowball fights in the boys' future.
Kyle cut several paths through the snow in the side yard so the boys could run "through" the snow. They really had a great time!
Two years ago, when we had an epic winter with snow, we found an architectural design flaw in the house. The dryer vents outside of the house next to a roof peak from the first floor, a peak that tends to build up huge drifts of snow. In order to dry clothes, Kyle has to climb out onto the roof and clear the snow away from the vent. Kinda scary, but he puts on a brave face!
This is the bank of snow he is clearing from the roof:
I wanted to make Valentine's Day really special for the kids, so I attacked some pinterest projects. Here are the kids' Valentines for their friends at school:
Pink, heart-shaped rice krispy treats:
These are the kids' secret Valentine's messages from Kyle and me that we made. They were blank and the messages only appeared when they colored over them with markers.
The boys had "Pink Waffle and Pajama Day" at daycare on Valentine's, so they wore pj pants and their Valentine's shirts:
Self-discovery:
We ventured to a restaurant for lunch yesterday, wondering if we were going to regret our first restaurant experience with all five of us in months. The kids actually did great and we even had a compliment from an older woman about how well behaved our children were! It may have been a fluke, and they may never do that well again, but we were proud of them.
Campbell ate puffs while we ate. She is getting pretty good at getting them to her mouth:
So far, Hayes is the only one who can get a really good belly laugh out of Campbell. She will chuckle for Kyle and me, but as soon as Hayes gets in her face, she lets out a true laugh. Kyle got some on camera:
