20 Months/Christmas 2011

We had a busy last month celebrating Christmas and doing all things holiday related.  Fisher has continued to advance in his mobility and his vocabulary.  His cute little legs can't carry him fast enough as he tries to keep up with Hayes.  Poor thing wipes out sometimes as he tries to run/walk.  He'll get there soon enough...  As for his vocabulary, it has exploded.  There is no word he won't try.  One of our favorites was his version of amazing, which was more like "mae-zin"---so cute!  I tried to get him to say it in a video posted at the end, but he refused, the little stinker!

Hayes seemed to really enjoy Christmas this year, which made it a lot of fun for us, too.  He was really into Santa and Rudolph and Christmas carols.  In fact, he would sit quietly for an hour at a time listening to some kids singing Christmas songs that Kyle downloaded for him.   That is a feat in itself, especially since it's not often that Hayes sits quietly for any length of time!

Here is our Christmas card pic:

We went to WinterFest in our little town one Friday night.  The highlights were seeing Santa and Mrs. Claus, spotting "Rudolph," and, of course, the parade of fire trucks from all the surrounding towns that were hung with Christmas lights.  Awwww, look at this display of brotherly love:

Is this one for me????

Betty and Butch (Kyle's parents) came up for visit for Christmas this year since we didn't make the trip down to SC.  We had such a great time with them and I think they really enjoyed being around the boys.  Their visit made for a wonderful Christmas!

We weren't sure how Fisher would do with Granddaddy and Grandmama, since he is so young and had not seen them in several months.  He was not shy in the least as soon as someone mentioned the word "book."  He climbed right up in their laps!  Here is Fisher reading with Grandmama:

Betty may kill me for this (sorry!!!), but I thought it was so cute with both boys learning how to use Grandmama's i-pad:

We let Hayes and Fisher open one present each on Christmas Eve, and Hayes predictably picked the largest present with his name on it under the tree.  It turned out to be a great idea, because Hayes was kept very busy playing with his new toy for a while.

On Christmas morning, Hayes saw that Santa had eaten all the cookies we left out for him:
