21 Months

During the past month, Hayes and Fisher have begun to actually play together---which is really nice to see and listen to.  Fisher has become much more sure on his feet and thus, quicker!  Having two sets of feet stomping (pitter-pattering sounds so much more idyllic, but stomping is our reality...) as they wear a path around the main floor is wonderful and crazy.  Fisher is also starting to string together two words at a time or three syllables, like "thank you Hayes" or "no kiss" or "more please."  He is just pretty happy in general, though he did come down with RSV and then had an earache and pinkeye a week later, which made him a bit irritable.  But all in all, he's a happy little guy who is very content playing and watching his brother.  He is also starting to imitate Hayes' actions.  Fisher wants to do everything his older brother does!
 My blue-eyed boys:

Fisher has been wanting to sit at the big table (like Hayes) instead of in his little separate booster chair.  However, he is not quite so steady at sitting in a big chair, so Kyle brought the little table upstairs from the basement as a compromise.  We let them eat together at the kids' table for the less messy meals.

One weekend afternoon, we watched a movie and each had our own bowl of popcorn.  It was so sweet to sit and enjoy something (quietly) together!
We have a local air museum that had their annual open cockpit day a few weekends ago.  It happened to fall on a bitterly cold Sunday and so was VERY crowded.  If we ever wondered where all the families with boys in Connecticut hung out, it was at the New England Air Museum that day!  Hayes was surpringly very patient waiting in line to sit in the planes for only a couple minutes.  Kyle and I though that it was probably a view into what it would be like at Disney World---wait in line for 30 minutes for 2 minutes of fun.  Not looking forward to that!  Anyways, here are the boys in some of the planes and helicopters:

Thumbs up!!!

Hayes and Kyle got to ride in a flight simulator plane.  Poor Kyle had to wedge himself into it!  But Hayes had the time of his life!
 Flying!
 Pedal plane:
 "I'm having fun, too!"
We got a few inches of snow one Saturday.  It was too cold for Fisher to enjoy outside, but he had a good time watching Hayes on his new sled from the window:
My little boys in the bathtub "swimming:"
Playing with dyed rice, a very good indoor activity that kept them busy for 45 minutes straight.  And cleanup is mostly just sweeping the floor!

The latest obsession is climbing into the cabinet together:
 Look, noodle fingers!!!!
Fisher LOVES wearing hats and will walk around all day with a knit hat on if we'll let him.  Apparently, a box works just as well!
Here is Fisher showing off some of his animal sounds.  You may have to listen twice to hear his special version of "cock-a-doodle-doo:"
