19 Months

(Note: This posting is a tad late due to all the craziness of the holiday season.  It should have been posted around Dec. 7th.)

At Fisher's "18 Month" check-up (done at 19 months), he was given a clean bill of health.  He's still a munchkin, though he doesn't look it because his head is so darn big!  He weighed in at 20 pounds, 15 ounces (2nd percentile), which made us excited that he finally broke the 20 pound mark.  He can now officially be turned around in the carseat to face forward.  (We're not sure when we're actually going to do that since he still seems pretty happy and has plenty of room to face backwards, not to mention it's safer).  He was 31.25 inches tall, placing him in the 11th percentile.  And topping the charts is his head circumference, which at 48 cm, is in the 50th percentile!  He seems to be staying steady on his own little growth curve and he's pretty healthy, so we're not complaining.  And we're getting a whole lot of use out of Hayes' old clothes---Fisher is wearing the 6-9 and 6-12 month clothing for the second winter in a row!

In other Fisher news, he has about 7 words in his vocabulary, his favorite of which is "vroom, vroom," indicating cars or anything else with wheels.  He has moved up to the next classroom at school, where they do more structured activities and art projects, which he seems to be enjoying.  His upper canines have started to come in, which doesn't seem to have made him too grumpy, thank goodness.  Lastly, he has started to give us real hugs, melting our hearts!

I can't forget to write about a couple of the really cute things Hayes has said lately.  One of them was actually at Halloween.  He came home from school the day they dressed in their costumes and when we were asking what his friends dressed up as, he told us that his friend Emma was dressed as "Red Hot Riding Hood!"  Also, Hayes calls his last finger on his hand his "pinkie promise."  No matter how many times we try to tell him it's just a "pinkie," he always insists that it's the "pinkie promise."  How cute is he?!?!

Here are the boys enjoying the leaf pile that Kyle raked together, definitely a fall rite of passage for New Englanders:

Playing airplane and hanging out inside:

It gets a little dry inside once it gets cold outside, hence the ridiculous static:

Mismatch day at school, or as Hayes calls it "Mitchmatch day:"

Fisher participated, too:

I feel like we could replace the granola bars with a beer and a remote and this is the picture of every male on Saturday watching college football.  The funny part was that the TV wasn't even on!

Helping Kyle blow on my birthday dinner gravy to make sure it tasted good:

Everyone was excited about the potholders Auntie Shaunna sent me as a b-day gift!

French toast breakfast one morning:

One last gasp of my beautiful boy:

LOVE it!!! They are just stinking adorable. So glad that Fisher got a clean bill of health. I'm wondering if he pronounces "vroom" or if you're really the only one who understands what he's saying. Speech therapists tell me the words should be comprehendable but I thought that when kids start talking that it's not always clear what they're saying!
