Week 24

This week's pictures were taken with the lunchbox and tote that Fisher takes to school every day. My cousins Sarah and Matt and their son Owen sent the tote bag as a gift, which was so ridiculously cute that I just had to get the lunchbox to match! Unfortunately, Fisher was quite stone-faced during our attempts at getting the perfect weekly picture. In our third (yes, third)photo session, I managed to capture the semi-smile shown below. I don't remember it being so difficult to get Hayes to smile for his weekly pictures...
Nope, still not cracking a smile... I included this pic to show Fisher's current hair-do: his hair just sticks up all over the place. He looks like a completely different baby in the bath with his hair wet and laying down.
Cute little pirate baby butt:

Fisher has begun blowing raspberries for a lot of his awake time. We moved him out of our room finally--he has been sleeping in his room for the past week, but still in the bassinet. We plan to move him to his crib before long. He has routinely been sleeping from 8 pm (with a dream feed at 10 pm) to anywhere from 5 to 7 am. Finally "sleeping through the night" regularly!!!

Hayes has been a bit on the whiny side lately, and that's putting it mildly---ugh. It makes my ears bleed! But he has been saying some pretty cute and funny things between the bouts of whining. The other night, we were looking at the full moon and he said, "There's no face on the moon, mommy!" I think he's used to seeing faces on all the pictures of the moon in his books. Also, Kyle and I were saying Fisher was "precious" one day and Hayes apparently thought we were saying "Grecious," so Fisher was called Grecious for a few days. Lastly, we have been trying to use positive reinforcement (bribery) with Hayes to get him to poop on the potty. We use almost anything: candy, cookies, prizes, big boy underwear, etc. He is very interested in these things but not so much interested in what he has to do to get them. So, we bought some stickers at the craft store and as the cashier rung them up, Hayes very matter-of-factly stated that the stickers were for when he goes "poopoo on the potty like a big boy." The poor cashier tried her best not to crack up laughing. The worst part is that this is not the first, nor the second time he has announced this to total strangers! If only he would actually do the thing he needs to do to earn the stickers! Maybe one day he'll be potty-trained... like by the time he's 5...

So far, Kyle has lost a total of 34.4 pounds in the past few months. He looks very skinny in this picture, so I couldn't help posting it. I'm so proud of him!

Fisher's "shoe" socks:

Hayes being silly in his white trash costume (no pants):
Note to self--if unable to think of a good Halloween costume, one could always send the boys out like this.

Hello, blue-eyes!

One last Hayes-ism-- here he is calling the design on Fisher's socks "Kolka dots:"

34 pounds!!!!! AWESOME!!! I can see it in Kyle's face. Don't get me wrong, I am still jealous, it's so much easier for guys to lose weight. Keep it up you two!
