We've been settling into life at home with two children. We are sleep deprived, of course. Hayes is doing pretty well. He always wants to check on Fisher and give him kisses. He wants to know where Fisher is first thing in the morning when he wakes up. However, he has been a tad crabbier and needier lately, no small surprise with all the changes going on--least of which is that he is no longer the center of attention. But, all in all, he is doing better than we expected.
Fisher is getting chunkier by the day. He was weighed by a visiting nurse that came to our house two days after discharge from the hospital (when he weighed 5 lbs, 13.5 oz.). She weighed him at 6 lbs. even. Then, we took him to the pediatrician the next day where he weighed in at 6 lbs., 1 oz. So, he broke the 6 pound mark in his 6th week of life (though he is still only 37 weeks gestation---3 more weeks until he would've been born!).
It's amazing how your perceptions of size can change in a short time. Hayes has been my "baby" for over two years and has seemed so small and compact to me. Now, however, he seems HUGE and weighs a ton compared to our new addition. Here's a shot for comparison:
Loving on his brother yet again: (with a headband he wore for a couple hours---yeah, I know--weird...)
Ha, ha---he'll kill me when he gets older and sees this, but Hayes was lifting his shirt to give Fisher some of his "boobie:"
Mom and Dad came back for another visit. It was so nice to spend quality time with them---usually, it's mayhem at Christmastime when we visit Charleston. Here they are getting to hold Fisher without all the wires that they had to deal with in the hospital:
