'Round the house

Look at my matching, handsome boys!

So, we haven't had a whole lot going on lately. Here are some pictures from the last few weeks:

Hayes opening his birthday gift from Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Derek, Dailyn, and Lawson:

It's a school bus!!! Hayes LOVES school buses and tells us, "I'm gonna ride the school bus one day!" If we see them on the way to take him to or from school, he wants us to "chase the school bus!" Too cute.

Oops! One evening, I volunteered an exhausted Kyle to play horsey with Hayes, who had a blast and couldn't understand why the horse finally collapsed.

Playing with Anya:

Anya kissing my huge belly:

The weekend after Easter, we took Hayes to the annual Easter Egg Hunt in our neighborhood. There were TONS of kids and they each were assigned eggs with a designated number on them. They were to find only their eggs, which was really nice in that all the kids, no matter how young or small, got to find eggs. I love our new neighborhood!

And most boring of all, here's the latest update on the babies and me: I am officially on bedrest after being admitted to the hospital over three weeks ago for pre-term labor (contractions that lead to labor changes). I stayed for two days to have two steroid shots administered, which help to mature the babies' lungs should they arrive early. At this point, we feel like that's a given, but every day and week that they're inside counts in that the babies will be further developed and will spend less time in the NICU. I am 30 weeks, 5 days today and trying to lay as low as I can, mostly on the couch. I am doing pretty well, keeping "busy" with tv, movies, internet, books, etc. I'm less bored and lonely during this go-round with bedrest, maybe because I knew what to expect.

Hayes had a difficult time while I was in the hospital (acting out at school), but has adjusted well to the new routine of greeting me on the couch every day when he comes home from school. I integrate one of my daily trips upstairs to read him his bedtime stories and sing lullabies, which is the absolute best part of my day.

Poor Kyle is taking on all the work of childcare, housework, cooking, etc. We have had some lovely friends and neighbors that have cooked us meals and I think the neighbors are organizing a rotation of who cooks meals for us three times a week. (That just goes to show that people in CT are great and neighborly once you get to know them!) It is difficult to accept the help as we've always been pretty independent, but I know the already cooked meals are a huge weight off of Kyle's shoulders. I must add that he is an absolute saint and that I am the luckiest woman ever to have such a fantastic husband. I am so thankful that he is such a wonderful man and that he takes such good care of us. I only wish that there was some rest for him at the end of the bedrest saga, but that's when the babies will be here and we all know there will be no rest for many, many months to come. Please keep your fingers crossed that the babies stay put for as long as possible and keep Kyle in your thoughts.

I'll post some of the latest ultrasound pics as soon as I can sweet-talk Kyle into going down to the basement to scan them in!
