Betty and Butch (AKA Kyle's parents, AKA Grandmomma and Grandaddy) came and spent about a week with us. They made the trip a relaxing one as a two day drive, stopping in Hershey, PA on the way up (yes, they did bring chocolates!). They did a little exploring of Connecticut and got to see the beautiful fall foliage. They also spent lots of time entertaining Hayes---reading to him, tickling him, playing with his toys, etc. We all had a great time!
On Wednesday, we went to Old Sturbridge Village, a replica of a village circa 1830. Almost all the buildings were built during that time period and were moved to the village from elsewhere in New England. It was a nice fall day and we all really enjoyed the outing. Here are a few pics from the day:
Hayes sliding in a kid friendly area:

Hayes' latest obsession is horses! He was enamored with the ones below since he could get pretty close:

His first time drinking out of a carton with a straw---he was so proud and happy!

Sitting on a (fake) cow/ox?

Pretty scenery---check out the reflection of the trees and leaves in the water:

More beautiful scenery of a different kind:

Grandmomma and Grandaddy tickling Hayes' legs:

Kyle's parents brought the last of Kyle's "stuff" from their house. I am quite sure they were happy to have it cleaned out of their closets, Kyle having been out of the house for 9 years now. One of the long lost possessions was a Hideo Nomo baseball action figure (doll). Hayes has loved playing with it, properly calling him "Nomo."
Chatting with Grandaddy:

Reading with Grandaddy:

Reading with Grandmomma:

I mentioned above that Hayes really, REALLY likes horses these days. Well, I came in from work one afternoon to find Hayes flipping through a magazine with Butch. They would flip to a page with a picture of horses on it and Hayes would get excited. Then, they would flip to another page. Hayes would hold up his hands and say something like, "where horse?" with a little shriek here and there. They had been at this for several minutes already, but continued long enough for me to get pictures and a video---the video is too cute---make sure your volume is on, but just make sure it's not up too high!
