In the past few week pictures, we've had to move the blocks further and further away from Hayes (or at least hide them from view) as Hayes becomes more and more mobile and can reach greater distances. Each photo op is a little bit more of a struggle to place him, get him to smile, and take the picture all before he lunges for the yummy blocks. Here is a video of the process and then a triumphant ending (for both Hayes and Anya):
We've settled in a bit more now that we have all our furniture. It's been a long week of unpacking boxes---all in a hurry so that we could place the cardboard and packing paper out by the street today for the recycle truck. Keep in mind that there were probably 60-70 flattened boxes and several more stuffed with paper. Kyle lugged all of it to the street last night (it took him about 30 minutes) only to find that NONE of it was picked up this morning. We made the horrendous mistake of not tying the boxes together (60 of them!) and having TOO MUCH paper. What a load of crap. Poor Kyle had to lug it all back to the garage where it will sit for several weeks while we trek down the coast. And they wonder why more people don't recycle...
Hayes and Anya watching the squirrels:
Hayes trying to catch the falling water in the tub and another of him in the tub just looking cute:

I'm not sure how posting will go in the next few weeks---we'll be staying several different places in VA, NC, SC, and NC and VA again. I'll try to keep up with the blog as I'm sure we'll have tons of pictures, but we'll see what time permits!
Here are my boys watching college football on Saturday, one each with a remote (I think there will be many more Saturdays like this to come):
Kyle saw some deer to the side of our house this morning:
Here is Hayes from the back side transitioning from sitting to kneeling---he's definitely not happy just sitting these days---any time you sit him down, he immediately lunges forward to his knees. It won't be long now before he's crawling (UGH!!!).
