Week 26/ 6 Months!!!

Today is Hayes' 6 month birthday and holy cow how time is flying. I can't believe that we've had our darling boy for half of a year already! We've been pretty busy lately with fun fall events and with me finishing up work.

Last weekend, we introduced Hayes to the world of tailgating. Kim and Adam and Dufner were nice enough to let us crash their party. I enjoyed catching up with them and I think Hayes really enjoyed meeting Kim! We also saw our neighbors, Ken and Carol, (who are responsible for outfitting Hayes in his KU regalia) and our other neighbors, Kelly and Taylor (Hayes' aloof girlfriend). Doesn't Hayes have a sort of lecherous grin on his face next to Taylor?

Sunday, we had a nice picnic out at Clinton Lake. This was our view from our shaded picnic spot:

It was the perfect lazy afternoon, topped off with a walk through some fields full of migrating monarch butterflies. Aren't they gorgeous?

Hayes was a bit cranky (putting it mildly) on Sunday evening. We didn't know what in the heck had come over him and were scratching our heads in confusion until I brilliantly realized he was the perfect age to start teething. (duh!!! you can't put anything past this dentist!!) One look in his pouting mouth and there was the evidence--a lower incisor is breaking through and there's another not too far off. Now we'll just hope he's not this cranky for the eruption of the other 19 baby teeth! No pictures of the teeth yet, but here are some other randoms throughout the week:

Dad sent some Lil' smokies for Kyle along with some interesting soup mix....

Bath time in the "big boy tub"---

Kitty love:

Can you find Puddy?
