Week 12 picture: "tummy time." This was a good week---Hayes started to hold his head up much more steadily (less 'drunken sailor'), he found out that his hands are fun to suck on (whenever he can maneuver them to his mouth), and he's started doing a bit more babbling. We laugh and say he's talking to Helga, since he'll say "el-gaaaaa!"
Here's Hayes sitting upright, holding his head up nicely:

We made a trip to Cabela's over the weekend. For those of you who have not visited us in Kansas and who haven't been to this HUGE Cabela's, you are missing out on a terrific collection of taxidermy. (Kyle and I can't figure out why we don't have more visitors---c'mon--what better draw is there than a huge taxidermy collection?) Here are a few of the stuffed animals (literally) in the collection.

Anya can't stand to be left out...

On Father's Day, we took Hayes to the indoor pool down the road from us. This was his first time in any water besides bath water. He was a little hesitant at first as the water was a little chillier than his bath. But, he got used to the water and seemed to really enjoy being in the pool. He was really relaxed and even "floated" a bit with us holding him. (Most babies don't like being turned over on their backs in the water.) We finally took him out once his lower lip started quivering from being a little cold.
