Fall is finally here...

The weather has finally cooled off here and we've been able to open the windows and enjoy the fresh air moving through the house. We haven't had much going on, thus the lack of new posts on the blog. Now, you get to be bored by pictures of my plants. I always hated, no abhorred, plants growing up. I think I was turned off by the fact that my mom had plants EVERYWHERE and our yard looked like a jungle. Plants were always my mom's past-time and I had absolutely no interest in them. That is, until I had a house and yard of my own. I am slowly learning what I can and can't grow (code for kill) here in Kansas. I love it and find it theraputic even to pull weeds. Now, I can identify at least a little bit with my mom's obsession for all things green and flowering.

My plants that were drying up in late summer due to the extreme heat are now having their second lives in the cooler, wetter weather. The gerber daisies and zinnias are still producing beautiful blooms. And, as you saw above, my mums are really starting to come into their own. As you can see below, I had a constant audience while I was taking pictures of the plants. They always watch me and shoot me imploring looks to PLEASE, PLEASE, let them outside. Gotta love 'em!
