We took advantage of the week my office was closed to book a last minute trip to see my brother and his family in Pensacola, FL. Here is the trip in (many) pictures:
Fisher checking out the plane in which he made his first flight:
On our first full day, we went to a party at Cindy's co worker's house---who just happened to have a pool that was the perfect temperature. We had a tough time getting the boys out of the water to eat!
Cindy with the always-smiling Ainsley, who is 13.5 months old, just 2 weeks younger than Fisher:Hayes is not yet the "fish" that I want him to be, but he is getting more and more comfortable in the water:
Cindy with the babies:
My goodness....the boys! These cousins are 2.5 months apart in age---Kellen just turned 3 in mid-June. They were so rambunctious but had the best time with each other. They played and fought and wrestled and slept next to each other on Kellen's bedroom floor and called each other "coconut." What great memories they created!
These cousins played next to each other, as babies of their age tend to do. Here they are at Fisher's first trip to the beach (we don't count the lake beach he visited last summer as a newborn up here in CT). Fisher first sat on the blanket for a while. We weren't sure if he would like the feeling of the sand since he is not a fan of grass.
Chris (drinking a girly-man beer):
Look-y-here-----Fisher ventures off the blanket into the sand! By the way, Cindy described the sand in Pensacola perfectly---the grains are like sugar, much larger in size than the sand in the SC beaches I'm used to.
Fisher dug right into the sand and had a ball. Hayes loved playing in the clear water.
The beach makes for some tired babies!!!
Up from their naps and being entertained by Chris:
Taking a break from the sun and water:
After the beach, Fisher and Ainsley help empty the cooler:
Kyle with an armful:
The kids were miraculously all quiet...
Our second day at the beach---and Fisher refused to wear his hat, so I had to grease up his hair with sunscreen:
Hayes collecting shells:
We were lucky enough to be able to see my older sister, Stacey, who was also visiting Pensacola beach with her friend, Kerry. They were staying at this posh resort with the best beach set-up. If only I had time to sit and read and nap under one of those umbrellas...
Stacey:
OK, I just had to post this---no description necessary:
Cutie-pies:
Ainsley, it's not Halloween! Trying to paint herself orange with her dinner:
Group bath:
We visited the Naval Air Museum on base:
Cindy's niece, Jessie, was visiting and was super great with the kids. She helped Hayes see some of the displays that he was too short to see:
The kids got to climb into some of the cockpits of the planes, which Hayes thought was the cat's pajamas:
Kyle thought it was pretty cool, too!
Chris couldn't be kept out of the action:
The Air Museum is one of Kellen's favorite places ever!
The Naval Air Base is the home of the Blue Angels. We were not fortunate enough to see them perform, but at least the boys were able to sit in the cockpits.
My beautiful boys:
Fisher finally got to have a turn!
Fisher was a little clingy all week due to a cold and stranger anxiety and teething. By the end of the week, he finally let Cindy hold him:
My arms full of cuddly babies:Uncle Chris finally got a turn:
Last shot of beautiful Ainsley:
We had a fabulous time visiting Chris, Cindy, Kellen, and Ainsley. Thank you for having us and making it a great week! We can't wait to see you again!

We had a great time, too! Thanks for spending your vacation here with us! Love the pics (even the ones that make my kids look like "white-trash babies")!
