Week 36

This week, Fisher visited the doctor and weighed in at 15 pounds, 6 ounces. He went to get his third RSV vaccine and his flu shot. The little turkey cried more for Kyle when he pulled the onesie over his head than for the shots! He HATES having clothes pulled over his head for some reason.
Fisher and Hayes are both still doing well in their new daycare and so far, Kyle and I are pleased with it as well!
The biggest excitement of the week was a kick-ass snow storm on Wednesday. We got about 21 inches, a record snowfall for a 24 hour period in our area. I don't think I've ever seen that much snow before---and it's really cool! We all stayed home for a "snow day"--we had several home-cooked meals and hot chocolate and watched movies. Hayes and I went out to play with the neighbor boy, Zach. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures:(. I think I was more excited about the snow than Hayes was, though. I wanted to build tunnels into the snow, but he wasn't too interested. I hope we get some more good snows when the boys are a little older so we can go out and really enjoy playing in the snow! Altogether, it was a great day all around.
This week's picture shows Fisher at the edge of the driveway in front of a wall of snow, which has melted down a little. This gives you some scale to see how much snow we got!
Both Kyle and I took turns shovelling a little, but thankfully, our super nice neighbor took pity on us and brought over his snow blower to clear our driveway. Otherwise, we'd have been out there for many, many hours! Kyle did have to go back out later that night to clear off another inch of snow that fell after the driveway was cleared. Here I am in the midst of shovelling:

And our driveway after our neighbor cleared it:

Kyle measured the snow the old fashioned way:

The black area you see to the left of the tree is the very top of Marin's statue. It was eventually covered completely:

Check out our picnic table on the back deck, which was just one mass of snow. Lunch anyone????

We have still been trying to feed Fisher solids and he mostly just refuses them. However, we had a breakthrough when feeding him carrots the other night. He just went to town! However, he hasn't touched them since. But doesn't he look cute all covered in goo?

...looks like you may need to invest in a snow blower!
