Gosh, I'm getting worse at this as time goes on---2 weeks late with the 20 month update....oops! It must be because we're busy with our normal daily routine which involves chasing after our little monkey! Hayes is doing very well, except for his constant runny nose (thank you daycare!). He is getting better at following directions and LOVES to think that he's being a good helper, whether it's with putting a diaper in the trash, shovelling snow, getting our shoes for us, sweeping, etc. His vocabulary constantly amazes us! He is the most precious little boy parents could ask for!
Yesterday, we woke up to snow. We only got about 4 inches total. (You know we're getting comfortable in the colder climates now that I say 'only 4 inches.') Luckily, it was my day off and Kyle doesn't really HAVE to be at work at any certain time (perks of being a professor!), so we didn't have to get out and drive in the rash of accidents everywhere. We had a nice, leisurely morning and then headed out to play in the snow right as it turned to sleet/rain. Hayes seemed to enjoy the snow much, much more than last year and did not freak out that we were wearing hats. He even 'helped' us shovel the walk and driveway. We're going to have to get him his own kid-sized shovel (though then, he'll probably still want to use ours...). Kyle did end up heading to work before lunch and Hayes and I headed out for a bit of shopping---it made for a pretty nice day off!
Isn't the snow pretty? (Remind me of that towards the end of winter when I'm so sick of it!)
I don't think that I've mentioned that our mailbox is on a wine barrel, courtesy of the wine-connoisseur previous owners.
Hayes actually LIKING being in the snow:
Hayes got a little tired of trudging through the snow and got a lift from Kyle:
