Better late and long than never...

It's been a while since we've posted, but we haven't been up to much until lately. First, we brought home our new baby nursery chair which is awesome--it glides and swivels and reclines. It is really comfortable and makes a nice addition to the (very bare so far) nursery. We also put up the crib and are loving how pretty it is. Well, anyone who knows us can probably guess that I put up the crib while Kyle did some cooking. Role reversal, anyone? The cats have been kept out of the nursery so far but were let in for a brief photo session. They were very curious about the new furniture. And I must give credit where it is due and say that we totally copied Anna and bought the same chair and crib that she has. What can I say? She and Sam have great taste!

The next major event in our lives was our baby shower last weekend in Charleston. We flew down to Charleston for a very quick visit (Friday pm to Sunday am) for a shower that Stephanie and our moms threw for us. It was totally worth it--we had a terrific time and a wonderful party/shower. We got to see our families and friends, some of whom we hadn't seen in ages.

Stephanie's sister-in-law, Kristen, made the cake for the shower. She is truly a cake artist--everyone was thoroughly impressed with her skills. The turtle matches the "mod turtle" bedding by Kidsline that we're using in the nursery. Isn't the cake fantastic?

Kyle's parents came down from Greenville. Pictured here are Kyle and his dad with an actual true smile (which is hard to coax in any photo opportunity). Also, Kyle and I with both his parents, Betty and Butch.

Next is a picture of my Grandma Cherry and Aunt Linda. Also, one of Dailyn helping me umwrap one of the many wonderful gifts that we received.

We were lucky enough to have some great friends join us. Anna, Sam, Mary Hudson, and Anna's mom, Donnie, came down from Asheville. MH keeps getting more adorable every time I see her. And Donnie lovingly fed Sam some of my dad's awesome food. Also, Cassie and Tim came down from Columbia. Cassie and I went to Wofford and dental school together. Lastly, my high school best friend, Renee, came over for a while with her 6 week old son, Connor. She is really taking to motherhood!

After our next doctor's appointment this Friday, we'll post again and update everyone on what's going on in my belly and also post the pictures from our 3-D ultrasound taken last week.
