We issue a challenge to anyone who is daring enough to visit us in the great state of Kansas: Come see us and we'll take you to have the best french toast you've ever had!
When Kyle and I can get our lazy butts out of bed on a Sunday morning and are in the mood for something other than cereal, we trek downtown to Mass. St. and indulge in some terrific breakfast. The place is always packed---expect to wait at least 20 minutes for a table (longer if you need a table for four). Anyone who knows me well knows that I like to eat breakfast immediately upon getting up, so this wait at the restaurant can pose a challenge. I remedy this by taking along some dry cereal and/or orange juice (and keep myself from getting totally grumpy).
So, the breakfast is awesome---thick bacon, savory sausage, fluffy pancakes, and what taste like local, farm fresh eggs. The best part, as I mentioned before, is the delicious french toast. It is made using thick slices (1 1/2 inches) of homemade bread that is dredged in a bourbon, cinnamon, and nutmeg egg batter. Each slice is literally the size of my hand. YUM!!! (If you're not hungry yet, then you must've just eaten.)
