We had planned to go up to New Hampshire for the 4th of July weekend, but our plans fell through. Instead, we made the most of it and had a wonderful "Stay"cation. We had friends over on the 4th for a cookout and spent the rest of the weekend around some type of water, because it was HOT-- 90's every day, which is quite warm for New England!!!
Here are all three of the kiddos playing together, a scene that warmed my heart:
My green thumb husband with the first broccoli he's ever grown:Watermelon break at Crystal Lake Beach:
Campbell has seen the boys wearing their goggles at the beach. She found these in the closet and kept putting them on top of her head. The smart cookie knew where they were supposed to go! I put them on for her, which made her so happy!
We had a family movie and picnic dinner in the living room one night. Campbell didn't watch the movie, of course, but entertained herself by sitting in her booster chair. She loves to climb into chairs these days.
Hayes and his best buddy, TJ:
Fisher and his buddy Tyler:
Somehow, Kyle and TJ and Tyler's dad, Tom, ended up doing the most digging in the sand:
Snack break:
Campbell and I cooled off in the water. This baby girl loves the water, even when we get pummeled by a wave unexpectedly:Another snack break:
Happy girl:
Crowded beach:
On our last day of staycation, we visited a dinosaur park, where they had a maze. Campbell hung out with Kyle...
...while the boys and I had a great time looking for the exit.
We found it!!!
There were also life size dinosaurs throughout the park.
This was Hayes' favorite!
The best part of the park was the splash pad! I think we would have melted away if there wasn't some type of water to play in that day. Luckily, the splash pad was wet and refreshing! Hayes loved the huge water guns and was stationed at one of them almost the whole time:
Looks like fun, right? If there are any visitors with small children who'd like to visit us in CT (hint, hint), we'll bring you here!!!
What a great weekend! We were all wiped out by the end of our 4 day vacation. Kyle and I were excited about getting a rest once we got back to work that Monday!
