Somehow, it has been an entire year since the arrival of our precious Campbell. What a wonderful addition to our family! We once wondered how our family would function with 3 kids under the age of 5. Now, we can't imagine our family without the chaos, wonder, love, and happiness that all of our children bring us. Happy birthday to our sweet, cuddly, smiley baby girl!
We had a wonderful summer themed party, a watermelon picnic, with lots of Southern food to let our New England friends experience our Southern roots.
The birthday girl!
Campbell's "smash cake:"
Watermelon cupcakes--- vanilla cupcakes with red dye and mini choc chips for the seeds:
Mini picnic baskets filled with candy (shh, don't tell our dentist) for the kiddo party favors:
Mason jar party favors for the adults:
I found a recipe on pinterest for the Coca-cola cake that is served at Justine's kitchen in Charleston and have now made it several times. It is a very dense and moist cake with a glaze poured over the top as soon as it comes out of the oven. It is absolutely delicious!
I went a little crazy with the red gingham, but it was just so cute!
Party time!
Watermelon on a stick:
You can see the bounce house/waterslide we rented for the kids in the background. They had a blast!
Deb and Chris:
Jaden and Dalen:
Kyle made a Lowcountry Boil (Frogmore Stew) for everyone to enjoy. He also made pimento cheese and pepper jelly and cream cheese for dipping. It was the perfect day and perfect weather to just sit out on the lawn and eat. Here are our neighbors Morgan, Liz, and Cole, who just turned one a few days ago:
Amy and Dean:
The kids ate hotdogs.....
Including the birthday girl!
Thank you to Kyle who supported me in all the crazy party planning and helped make everything happen! Lowcountry boil and wine in a mason jar:
The wagon filled with ice (mostly melted at this point) was a popular hang out for the kids under 18 months old:
Cake time!
Yum...
Using the candle as an icing vehicle:"This icing really smushes nicely between my fingers....this will make it extra hard for mommy and daddy to clean me up. What was mommy thinking with red and green icing????"
Happy birthday once again to the happiest, sweetest baby girl!
